Is it appropriate to enter 'volunteer' work on the Resume'

by Donald
(Wesley Chapel, FL)

Since I'm focusing on my I.T security history, it is my thinking that listing my work in the County Sheriff's dept will show me as trustworthy. It is as I stated, "Volunteer work". But, the work is part of the Property & Evidence dept; putting me in a highly secured environment.

Should I list the work on the Resume? If so, where?

Definitely!

Hi Donald... You should definitely include this volunteer experience on your resume! Usually, volunteer experience is listed in a separate section after work experience. But it could also be listed under Work Experience. And you might want to mention it in the cover letter as well.

To your success,
Kathi
