How to explain left employer due to verbal abuse?

by Anonymous
(Somewhere)

I left my employer after 11 years of employment due to several years of another employee's off and on verbal abuse. This included getting directly in my face and swearing. The supervisor/manager did nothing as the supervisor "doesn't get involved in issues between employees".

How should I word why I left this employer?

ANSWER: I think you could just say you left because of a personal conflict with another employee. You could say that you unsuccessfully attempted to resolve this with the support of management, but that you ultimately decided the best course was to remove yourself from a potentially harmful situation.
