How Do I Respond to an Interview Question About My Objectives?

by Ashwini

If an interviewer asks me while interviewing "What is your objectives?", how should I answer?

ANSWER: This is not an answer I can give to you. I don't know anything about you or the type of job you are looking for. It's something you need to put some thought into before your next job interview.

But what an employer is looking for is an understanding of what you hope to get out of the job and the company you're applying for. It helps them know if your goals are in sync with theirs.

So besides getting to know yourself & your motivations, you also need to learn something about any company you interview with, so that you can explain your goals in a way that makes sense to them. Your objectives should also NOT be totally focused on you, but should include what you hope to accomplish for your employer.

To your success,
Kathi
