What does it mean when an employer says, 'Please, apply in writing."?

by Dianne

I want to apply for a job and the ad states, "Please, apply in writing." Is this just another way of asking for a resume and cover letter as opposed to visiting them? Or, would they be asking for a hand written letter?

Thank you.

ANSWER: Basically, this is a polite way of saying, "Don't call us or just stop by. Put it in writing." And yes, your standard resume and cover letter is exactly what they will be looking for.
