HR is fishing
by: Anonymous

Many HR departments fish for potential employees with no real job to offer. They take in resumes and talk to people in the likely event they may need someone in the future. By that time you may already have a job, but they hope you may quit your job to work with them. Also HR drags out hiring so they can load present employees with work and save money on a new hire until absolutely necessary or they are waiting to eliminate someone on the performance or attendance bubble or are planning to promote an internal canidate. If you don't hear back in a timely fashion, cut your losses and move on. Do not wait,! This could cost you another position.

Hang in there
by: Kathi

Unfortunately, many employers today do not seem to value people like they used to. Keeping you hanging and out of the communication loop is not a great way to start a relationship with you if they do plan to hire you.

I hope you do get the job if it's what you want. But, if you don't, try not to look at it as a failure, but simply as an opportunity to find a job that's even more right for you.
