Don't Leave a Gap
by: Kathi

Hi Danielle... I definitely don't advise you to leave out your most recent jobs, even if they're not directly relevant to the position you want now. When you look at those jobs, think transferable skills. These are skills that can be taken from one job to another, even if the jobs are different... things like communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work as a team (or independently), and so on. Emphasize those types of skills in the job descriptions on your resume.

In your cover letter, emphasize the older position that relates directly to the job you're applying for, but also explain how what you've been doing lately will help you succeed in this new position.

To your success,
Kathi
