How to maximize years at job when company dissolved and new one recruited staff?

by Peggy
(NY)

The company I worked for dissolved and went out of business. A new company recruited and hired lots of staff from the company that went out of business.

How can the experience at one company be included with the experience at the new company?
Thanks.

ANSWER: Peggy... I would list them as two different jobs, which they basically were. If you want, you can explain the buyout in your cover letter.

To your success,
Kathi

Maxamo... This site is about writing resumes and cover letters and excelling at interviews. I am no legal expert on unemployment law. That's a question you'll need to pose to your local authorities. Sorry about that...
