How to handle a current employer situation with a potential offer?

by Lisa
(Waterbury, CT)

Hello... I have recently received an offer for a position but during the interview process I omitted my current employer as I have only been in this position for a couple of months. I was afraid that word would come back to my boss and lose my job.

How should I handle this situation if the company that has made me an offer finds out about my current job?

Thanks
Lisa

Answer: This is EXACTLY why I never advise people to be dishonest, even by omission, on a resume. The truth will always come back to bite you. I don't think there's anything you can do other than tell them exactly what you told me above.
