How Should I List Jobs for Companies No Longer in Business?

by Anonymous
(Somewhere)

Some jobs I have worked are no longer in business and I need to list on my resume. I am reapplying for a new job and I need my work history.

ANSWER: Hi there, Thanks for posting this question. This one is easy... just list all your jobs and employers on your resume. It doesn't matter that they're no longer in business; they're still your employer of record. Of course, verifying employment may be impossible, but there's nothing you can do about that. Just explain in your cover letter about the employers.

To your success,
Kathi
