How do I list multiple jobs from temp services on resume without looking like I'm not dependable?

I got laid off last October after 11 1/2 years at Solar Communications. This company closed the doors for business and the machines are being sold to our next competitor in another state.

I don't have skills too much to speak of on my resume. I'm going through temp agencies trying to learn new skills. I'm thinking of going back to school to learn new skills in the health care field.

I'm going through jobs at a temp service and not making the grade to stay.

Hi Alicia,

I think most employers would realize that the nature of temp work is that the assignments are often short-term. On the contrary, the fact that you ARE working shows your work ethic.

And I'd be surprised to hear that you truly have no transferable skills from your previous job. After 11.5 years, you would certainly have some. For instance, communication skills, organizational skills and teamwork are skills we often bring between jobs and that are valuable to employers. So give yourself credit, OK?

If you feel you need to, you can point out in your cover letters that your temp jobs were short-term assignments while you look for a permanent position.
