How do I explain a 3 year employment gap when I left the workforce to care for my aging parents?

by Lori
(Shubert, NE USA)

Should I include this gap on my resume?

Answer: I don't see how you can NOT include it, as it happened. And there's nothing wrong with being honest about your caregiving responsibilities.

Chances are, there are many skills and experiences you gained while caregiving that could be beneficial in future work positions. Think about how you can communicate those transferable skills when applying for jobs.
